Why to manage resume for internship?

Employers use the CV as the first filter to shortlist interns for internships. Your CV not only reveals fundamental details about your qualifications, but it tells the potential employer if you have such critical qualities as:

— Ability to organize information cogently
— Language skills (clarity, accuracy, and elegance)
— Capacity to pay attention to details (presentation, consistent use of fonts and spelling)

If you have handled an important internship project, don’t sound surprised by it. “I was fortunate to have the privilege of working with the renowned company internsindia.com ” is both unwieldy and useless. Instead, say what you did: “Was associated with internsindia.com's assignment to develop brand-building strategies for Superbig Ltd.”

Project your position/aptitude confidently. If you were in charge of an assignment executed by seven people, say “Headed a team of seven people…” rather than the vague “Was responsible for a team…”

Customise your CV in accordance with the needs of the organization to which you are applying. If the employer wants someone with an aptitude for research, highlight your past internships or live projects that dealt with the area. The one-size-fits-all CV is a disaster.

Spend some moments with your CV before the big interview. You may be asked, for example, about the month in which some internship project was begun. If that information is in your CV, you should remember it.

These blemishes are inexcusable:

Misspelt words, grammatical errors, inconsistencies (for example: Deepali College in one paragraph, Dipali College in another)
